AUTHOR'S NOTE
The method to load skins only allowed to have one loaded. If you want more loaded, you can do from version 2.

If an option is not activated in the Loader, it's because it is not available for that style of VU-Meter.

The skins are activated and deactivated with the button next to the menu. If you have a skin in use and select another, you must press 2 times the button, once to close and again to load the new style

Enjoy it

Using latest Rainmeter but on loading the skin all I get from the Loader is:

00:00                                                           00:00

Nothing works except right click/EXIT

Help?!

Great looking skin, I just hope I can get it working!
Thanks for sharing ;-)

You must select your player on the speaker button

Thanks for replying :-)

You miss my point, there is no speaker button, NOTHING is displayed in either v3.9 or v2.
When I activate v2 there is literally nothing appearing onscreen. When I activate v3.9 all that is shown onscreen is - 00:00                                                00:00
Nothing else appears, no icons, no backgrounds, no other text, nothing.
I just tried to manually load a skin in v2 and it crashed Rainmeter saying there were no measures (or maybe it said Metres?) contained in this skin and it will now be deactivated, but then Rm crashed.

Is there some requirement for this to work that I don't know about?
I'm using Win10x64, Core i74770K, nVidiaGTX770, Rm v4.1 Final Portable install on internal HDD.

Thanks

EDIT: I just checked Rm's log window, there are a ton of errors? First it stated the PlayerName was invalid, so I opened the Variables file and changed it to CAD for Foobar2k. That solved that problem.
But for some reason, I am getting an error for two graphics files, stating unable to load led_on.png and cover.png from the Loader folder. They just keep repeating the errors?

Any ideas?

Then the problem is in the latest version of Rainmeter.

I just attempted to load your Rackmount Loader and this is also having issues!
Do you know what the problem is?

I'll ask on Rm's forum...

Thank you for your help.

Try installing Rainmeter in the normal version, not the portable version. It is evident that you have the problem. I have tried the latest version and everything works fine.

All I'm really after is to understand how to get the peak values displayed at the top of each channel.
For example, if you look at the Desktop VU Metre 2 page of yours, in the pic of the spectrum analyser at the bottom, you have the peak values of each channel. Just a line above each showing it's highest volume, how did you achieve this?

I can't figure out how the code is supposed to work.

Any chance of a basic skin that shows just left and right audio with peaks and clipping?

I have already started adapting one I downloaded but can't figure out this last bit!

Thanks

I guess you mean the Delay effect. It is about duplicating the measure [mAudioOutput] by placing a higher value to FFTDecay. That produces a delay, it is not a volume peak even though it seems so.
The analog Vu-Meters use the RMS values instead of FFT. The volume peak of each channel (2), can be adjusted by PEAK. In this project is automatic

You have to modify part of the code because this project works with images. One simple thing is to remove some bars.

I really like this, but it would be better if I could make it shorter or taller through a simple menu, similar to monstercat. and also there are so many options it takes 5 minutes just to navigate the damn variants menu.

Ah I see. Yeah I think perhaps the next version might benefit from a bit more of a visual preview and a lot more customizability. I absolutely love having a vu-meter visualisation with delay lines at the bottom of my screen since it adds a lot of character to my theme, but I'd prefer them to be taller and to be able to choose the size of the stacks.

Thanks for your comments. This visualizer does not pretend to be like the one you comment on. The images can't be resized without loss of quality. The bars have a lot of customization, but they are simply rectangles to the rhythm of music with various colors. Desktop VU-Meter uses predesigned imagens adapted to each screen resolution with different color effects.
If you wish you can try my new project VU-Shape Visualizer. It's very customizable and does not use bars or images. fav.me/dapwx9x
Thank you.

A lovely VU-meter and player, and it has become my default method of adjusting my master volume and controlling playback of my Foobar2000.

Now, there is one thing that I would change with it. Basically I would like the "Stop" button just act as like a proper "Stop" button instead of closing the player completely.
I keep pressing it accidentally when I mean just to stop playback. But to actually stop it I need to jump over to Foobar2000 and click on the stop button there.

What would I need to change to alter the behaviour, and to what? Also, would it be possible to start my Foobar2000 from just pressing "Play" button somehow?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

And thank you for making this, it has made enjoying my music much easier.

Also, an idea for next version, if you are ever thinking of making one:
Making the volume meter have 2 concentric rings, with one adjusting the player volume (some sort of autodetect running player needed?) and the other adjusting the master volume.

Thank you for your comments. Regarding your first question, you can edit the skin and remove the part where the command is given to close the player. In the first design, I put a button to open and close the player, but the loader/player looked very overloaded.

Rainmeter can only handle the master volume control or switch between devices.

At the moment I can not update anything for lack of time. I want to unify Desktop VU-Meter and all the features of my Music Non Stop Player, with several improvements. (MP3 player, CD control, Internet Radio, Music News RSS feeds and all visualizers)

We will have to wait a few weeks. Thanks

Me gusta mucho.

This is one of my favorite skins to use. Thanks for your hard work.
I have a question though: How do I change the read output for the visualizer? I'm using a WSAPI output on one of my music players and the VU won't work. Also, even without WSAPI, I'm using a different sound card on my PC and the VU won't pick it up regardless. My default microphone jack and Windows Media Player works, however.

I have found another issue that may or may not be important to you HiTBiT-PA it's programming related. Say i have speakers plugged into the back of my motherboards realtek etc, and i have a FiiO Dac connected via USB for headphones. When I turn on the dac windows automatically changes priority of main audio device to that DAC, meaning that it disables speakers and enables the dacs spdif as default. So it effortlessly transfers sound when u turn off speakers and turn on dac for headphones. Your VU meter doesnt track by default sound instead tracks by current and stays there, meaning if i turn on my dac and use headphones your VU meter does not work.
